Tustin Street stairway safety upgrade

Tustin St public steps · City-steps revitalization (partial)

The Impact

Restore a daily shortcut and make the climb safe again — a Pittsburgh staircase brought back to life. This is a targeted repair, not a full rebuild — new rails and spot treads where they're actually failing, not a wholesale replacement. For the Bluff, that means less cost and less time closed, without leaving the worst spots unfixed.

Scope

New handrails, tread spot-repair, and step lighting on a well-used Uptown hillside stairway (not a full rebuild).
